WEEK OF APRIL 29 – Upcoming Scholarships and Deadlines
As you begin to receive financial aid packages and make your post-secondary plans, there are still many scholarship opportunities available.
Below are the scholarships with deadlines in the next few weeks.
Scholarships are available through the Google Classroom “Planning for After High School” and on Naviance. If you have any questions, connect with your school counselor. *Note, for many scholarships proof of FAFSA completion/progress is sufficient due to the issues with FAFSA this year.
1. City of Salem – Deadline: Friday, May 10, 2024
The City of Salem’s Scholarship and Education Committee has released the scholarship application form for students graduating from Salem High School, Salem Academy Charter School, or other high schools, and entering college or university in the fall. The one-page application form is available now at www.salemma.gov/scholarship in both hard copy or for online completion. Complete application packets (application form, statement, transcript, and financial aid award letter) are due by May 10, 2024.
2. 2024 Ellevation Scholarship – Deadline: Sunday, May 12, 2024
Ellevation will be awarding ten $2,000 scholarships to deserving EL high school seniors who are continuing on to higher education. Be high school seniors who have been enrolled as an English Language Learner (ELL) at some point during their K-12 education. Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award. Up to ten (10) awards will be granted. Awards are one time only.
3. 2024 City of Salem & Waste Management Scholarship – Deadline: Friday, May 31, 2024
The City of Salem, in partnership with Waste Management (The Solid Waste and Recycling service provider for the City of Salem) is excited to announce the 2024 annual scholarship program. This scholarship will award one $1,000
scholarship to a student pursuing college or graduate level studies in preparation for a career focused on environmental sustainability. This includes careers in environmental science, education, engineering or law so long as there is a specific environmental focus (e.g., science education, environmental engineering, or environmental law).
4. 2024 Massachusetts Association of Campground Owners Higher Education Scholarship – Deadline: Monday, May 20, 2024
A qualified candidate for this one-time $1000 award is a Massachusetts resident, a Massachusetts high school graduate or student and will have a concentration in but not limited to: Outdoor Recreation/Sports, Hospitality, Environmental Preservation/Engineering.
