SHS Alumnus Nate Bertone ‘12 to Launch Children’s Book, ‘Nana Nana,’ at North Shore Music Theatre Sept. 17
help children understand Alzheimer’s Disease
SALEM (Sept. 5, 2024) – Nate Bertone, a 2012 graduate of Salem High School, will appear at the North Shore Music Theatre for the launch of his new children’s book “Nana Nana,” Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.
Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at the NSMT website. Cost of the ticket includes a copy of “Nana Nana.”
The evening will open with a reception in the lobby at 6 p.m., followed by a performance by country music singer Jay Allen at 7 p.m. After the performance, with Mr. Bertone, Mr. Allen and representatives from the Alzheimer’s Association and Hilarity for Clarity will engage in an open discussion.
Following the discussion, Mr. Bertone will remain on hand to sign books in the lobby.
“Nana Nana” is centered around a young boy and his relationship with his grandmother who is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s Disease. Mr. Bertone wrote the book to give children a better understanding of the disease.
An internationally-known director, designer, playwright and producer, Mr. Bertone is a staunch advocate in curing Alzheimer’s Disease.
Mr. Bertone is the brother of SHS English teacher Jen Feener and nephew of Bentley Academy Innovation School custodian Jim Newman. A 2016 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, this is his first children’s book.
