More than 60 Salem High School seniors attended the Class of 2025 Future Educators Celebration and Senior Signing Friday morning, May 23, at the SHS IMC Library.
Each senior signed a commitment declaring their intent to study education, either at a college or university and/or as a career, and uniquely to return to their alma mater to teach.
Among the colleges our seniors plan to attend include North Shore Community College, Salem State and Endicott College along with the U.S. Army, Penn State, the University of Vermont, Curry College, Merrimack, Bridgewater State, Norwich University, Fitchburg State, UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, Southern New Hampshire, Western New England and the University of Southern Maine among them.
The ceremony echoed the core principles of the Salem Public Schools 2023-26 Strategic Plan, particularly the tenets of strengthening the District’s foundation and empowering educators. With many Salem High School alumni currently among staff at SPS, the district is committed to promoting education and attracting educators.
