Tri-M induction the latest highlight in 2025-26

SALEM (Dec. 22, 2024) – Sixteen student musicians were inducted into the Salem High School Tri-M Music Honor Society – in its 26th year – Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the M. Ruth Norton Auditorium.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society at SHS was founded in the 2000-01 school year. Presiding over the ceremony were seniors Em Clark, president; Raymond Nghia Nguyen, vice president; August Hunter, secretary; Camryn Franklin, treasurer; Nancy Reed, historian, Waskelly Veloz Peña, social media & publicity; as well as Ben Chertok, coordinator of music at Salem Public Schools.

Among Tri-M inductees included juniors Finn Hanger, Frances Jones, and Kaitlin Modaff, each of whom will join Mr. Nguyen in representing SHS at the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) Northeastern District Senior Festival to be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at Arlington H.S.

The induction and the MMEA honors are the latest highlights in what has been a special year for SHS musicians.
