The Salem High School Carpentry track prepares scholars to operate multiple types of hand and power tools, both stationary and portable, and demonstrate safety protocol and the proper use of equipment.

Carpentry scholars work collaboratively with other CTE programs and other Salem schools on extended projects and activities. Our challenging curriculum enables scholars the choice to seek immediate employment following graduation or continue post-secondary education.

Scholars work on technical plans and prints, utilize CAD technology to create, read and interpret drawings, and identify/describe many varieties of wood. Finishing techniques and precision work while building custom furnishings is also a key part of the curriculum.
