Salem High School Electrical track scholars learn the critical skills necessary to succeed in residential and commercial wiring both in the shop and in school under the supervision of a master electrician.
Our scholars gain knowledge of equipment, blueprints, and safety skills while becoming proficient in a variety of electrical projects in compliance with the National Electric Code, Massachusetts Electrical Code, and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) Safety Code.

Our graduates leave with significant hours that apply toward the State of Massachusetts Electrical Board for the Electrical License Examination. They also possess the knowledge and experience to become apprentice electricians en route to a journeyman’s license, or to continue post-secondary education.

SHS Electrical curriculum stresses mathematics and science with emphasis on the ability to solve practical problems.
In their final year of the program, scholars participate in cooperative education and work ijn the field for local electrical companies during the school day and beyond.
