The Salem High School Medical Assisting track is a dynamic opportunity for scholars considering a career in the healthcare industry. 

Among many skills, scholars gain the knowledge to:

  • Read and interpret a patient’s medical history
  • Perform vital signs and assist a primary care provider directly during an examination
  • Develop advanced skills in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Training in medical simulation in the SHS Medical Lab

SHS Medical Assisting graduates from the program possesses the necessary skills to enter the workforce as a medical assistant or to continue post-secondary education.
